We are a Ugandan-owned business that values warmth, honesty, craft, and community. We believe in real ingredients, no shortcuts, and the patience to make everything properly, because we cherish our community and know that it deserves good food.

Karveli’s cuisine is a blend of local Ugandan ingredients and European techniques. The culinary knowledge our directors bring comes from their education in towns like Weinheim, Germany, Yssingeaux, France, and Bologna, Italy — places where the art of making bread, pastries, and gelato has been perfected over centuries. That particularity of knowledge is complemented by the chefs who prepare our savoury meals and who have been trained by some of the best culinary institutions in Africa.

Since 2017, we have been waking up at dawn to bake Kampala’s bread, craft its pastries, and cook its meals from scratch. Whether it’s your morning croissant, a family Sunday lunch, or a celebration cake designed just for you, everything that leaves our kitchen is made with the same care as our very first loaf.
